Have fun at an afternoon of activities at Great Yeldham's community fete.

There will be fun activities to take part in organised by the bowls club, the newly reformed football club, the Scouts and the Brownies, a local orienteering group and the local footpath walking group, among others.

There will also be face painting, glitter tattoos, nail art and ginger bread and cake decorating. There will be a number of exhibition stalls, including some from Essex Police Museum, Essex Fire and Rescue's Mobile Unit, the District and Ladies Club, the Essex Youth Bus, as well as an appearance from Gilbert the Bear.

The Fast Team will provide arts and crafts and fun and games for toddlers and MP Brooks Newmark will be there from 3pm until 5pm.

An opening ceremony will take place with a tug of war competition and there will be a closing prize giving ceremony with medals and certificates which will be presented by a local personality.

The fete, on Saturday from 1pm until 5pm, will take place on the green adjacent to the Reading Room, High Street, Great Yeldham.
