A FRINTON school signed off the year in style by dazzling audiences with a successful show.

Pupils at Frinton Primary School spent the last three weeks of the term learning lines and rehearsing for a special performance of The Tempest.

Their musical version of the Shakespeare classic went down a storm with family members, teachers and governors.

Year Six pupils who are about to leave school took the lead roles, while younger students provided the backing singing.

Headteacher Joan Dear said: “It was absolutely tremendous. The children worked so hard and they knocked the spots off of everything.

“Everyone put so much time and effort into it and the youngsters were word perfect with their lines. The singing was incredible too.”

She added: “These shows are fantastic. They give the children a chance to try something for the first time and really excel by stepping out of their comfort zones.

“Everyone contributed to a wonderful show.

“We do one of these shows each year and it is the perfect send-off for the older students."
