A BID to ban sales of cut-price super-strength booze in Clacton has been snubbed by most major shops.
Police and council bosses expressed dismay after stores refused to sign up to their Reducing the Strength campaign.
So far, only 12 out of 23 town centre shops which sell super-strong alcohol have joined the scheme, set up to rid the town centre of drunken crime and antisocial behaviour.
