Two neighbours will run the equivalent of more than two marathons in memory of a 14-year-old girl who died of cancer.
Nigel Stead and Ross Holland, of Binder Close, Maldon, will tackle the gruelling 100km London to Brighton Challenge on May 24 to raise money for Nicola’s Fund - a charity helping children suffering from cancer to go on the holiday of a lifetime.
It was set up following the death of Chester teenager Nicola Riley, who died in April 2005 following a three year battle with a malignant brain tumour.
Mr Stead used to work with Nicola’s parents Debbie and Steve when he was an area manager for Iceland.
