Cupid struck in a post office sparking 60 years of marriage for this Gosfield couple.
Margaret Nash was working as a post office counter clerk in Tottenham when she first set eyes on postman Gordon emptying the mail box outside.
Mrs Nash said: “I had my eye on him. He was quite dashing. He looked like the film star Cary Grant.
“He had just come out of the forces for his national service. I was 19 and he was 20.”
The couple married in Tottenham on February 27 in 1954.
Mr and Mrs Nash, of Halstead Road, will be celebrating their milestone wedding anniversary at Gosfield Golf and Country Club with family and friends.
The key to a long-lasting marriage is to make up after rows, according to Mrs Nash, 82.
