Radio link to tackle late night trouble is launched
A new radio link which will crack down on late night trouble has been launched.
Braintree Pubwatch was awarded £6, 500 by Braintree Council's local committee to buy 30 portable radios and a base station following a bid by Trevor McArdle, district councillor for Braintree Central, on behalf of Pubwatch.
It is so pubs, nightclubs, shops and even community centres can share information and alert police and the council's mobile CCTV van to any incidents.
Brendan Flynn, who owns Brendan's Pub and Club Eden in Braintree, said the system would link up the town centre and lead to better communication.
He said: "It's going to be an asset for everybody and it will hopefully cut down on crime and disorder and trouble."
Contact Mr Flynn on 07886 032031 if you would like it set up on your premises.
It costs £100 to subscribe for a year.
