A hospital has welcomed its 100th new baby this year.

Sarah Eve, 33, a probation officer of Braintree, gave birth to her fourth child at Braintree's William Julien Courtauld Hospital.

Ethan was born naturally on April 21 at 7.45am weighing 7lbs 10oz.

The labour lasted an hour and a half, assisted by midwife Paula Clare.

Mrs Eve, who is married to Phil, 34, an IT consultant, joked she "just got in there at the right time."

She said it was a "nice surprise" for her baby to be the 100th born there this year and it was "fabulous" to be a new mother again.
