Pupils of all abilities at an infant school have been identified as "making good progress," according to an education watchdog.

An Ofsted inspector visited Howbridge Infants School in Witham on March 19 and the report has highlighted the school as having "good" overall effectiveness.

Marianne Harris, the reporting inspector, said she "enjoyed listening to the recorder group in assembly and celebrating the birthdays," with pupils and she saw that pupils were well behaved and very friendly.

The report was published last week and it was positive news for the Dengie Close school.

Sandra Herring, headteacher, said she was "very pleased" with the inspection.

"I'm very proud of everybody, it has been a team effort and we have all worked really hard together."
