Dance gurus coming to Braintree

DANCE professionals who have worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Rihanna and Mariah Carey hope to train new talent in Braintree.

Dancer Louie Spence, who was brought up in the town, and top choreographer Paulette Minott, are setting up Definition Dance classes at Braintree Leisure Centre, which will run on Saturdays from July 26 for anyone aged nine and over.

His glittering career has included a starring role as Mister Mistoffelees in Cats, being one of the original cast members in Miss Saigon and working with stars such Kylie, Take That, Tina Turner and Wayne Sleep.

He has also been a judge on Sky One's Cirque de Celebrite and SkyTV's Bump and Grind.

Meanwhile, Paulette has worked with singers like Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige and appeared on Dancing on Ice, Bump and Grind and MTV's Bust a Move.

A free open day will be held on June 14 at Braintree Leisure Centre in Panfield Lane.

There will be free lessons from 10am to 12noon for nine to 13 year olds and at 12.30pm to 2.30pm for those aged 14+ Classes start proper from July 26 at the leisure centre. The fee is £14 for each two-hour session on a pay as you go basis.
