Mum helps keep troops smelling sweet

THE mother of a teenage soldier is collecting essential toiletries for troops in war zones.

Sheri Jones, of Homefield Way in Cressing, came up with the idea after son Glenn, 17, joined the Coldstream Guards in March.

"My son went into the army in March and it's not until someone that you know goes into the army that you know what they actually need.

"When they're fighting in places like Basra, Afghanistan and Iraq there's no local Tesco."

Mrs Jones is drumming up support from local businesses and The London Road Nursery, which three-year-old daughter Danyel attends, and E&S Cars have already offered to help.

Anyone who would like to help Mrs Jones can contact her on 07813 572299.
