Teachers were helped by pupils and their families to give a school's garden area a spring clean.

Youngsters at Templars Junior School, Witham, were joined by parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to take part in a special 'green day'.

The aim of the day, which was held on April 22, was to spruce up the school garden by weeding and planting.

Each year group is set to have their own vegetable patch as part of the clean up.

As well as the tidying up the school menu featured a special Thai green curry for the day to fit in with the green theme.
