Frustrated mobile phone users have lost signal once again.

It is the second time residents in the Hedinghams have been cut off.

The company have admitted it is because of a fault in the Vodafone network.

Helen Catley, who works for a business in Castle Hedingham, said: "It's so frustrating.

"Our business phones have been affected, one of them is an emergency phone used by a gas engineer who needs to be contacted at any time."

Michael Davies, a BT phone engineer, said:"It's very inconvenient.

"All my family use the vodafone network.

"I have a land line but I rely on my work phone when I go round the exchanges.

Mr Davies, 49, who lives with his wife Sheila in Bewick Court, Sible Hedingham, said his family in Halstead can no longer contact them on their mobile phones.

Ally Stevens, Vodafone spokesman, said: "Vodafone can confirm that we have been experiencing problems in the Sible Hedingham area.

"Our network team is currently working on the fault in order to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

"We apologise to any customers experiencing problems at this time."

In October 2007, metal and cable thefts from the phone mast in Sible Hedingham caused a loss of signal for more than a month.
