"The Golden Boy" who taught Prince Edward to wrestle, delighted an audience with a trip down memory lane.

Neil Sands, a former British heavyweight wrestler who has starred on ITV's World of Sport, visited Halstead for his latest music show.

Mr Sands, who lived in Sible Hedingham for nine years in the 70s, entertained an audience at The Queen's Hall yesterday(29/04).

The audience clapped and sang along to his The Remember When Show', which combines 1940s, 50s and early 60s music.

Mr Sands, of Ipswich, said: "I think Halstead's a smashing town."

Mr Sands, 60, reached the pinnacle of his wrestling career in 1981 when he fought in the Heavyweight Championship of the World against America's "Mighty John Quinn."

In 1995, he memorably taught Prince Edward to wrestle for Trafford Tanzi, which was performed at the Edinburgh Festival.
