THREE people were injuried following a road crash at Great Totham.
The accident happened in Broad Street Green Road at just after 1.15pm on Friday.
The male driver of a Vauxhall Vectra aged in his 60s and from the local area was airlifted to Queens Hospital with serious injuries but his condition is decribed as stable.
A woman passenger in the car and the male driver of a white transit van - which was the other vehicle involved in the head on crash - were both taken to Broomfield Hospital where their condition is also described as stable.
The road was closed for several hours and anyone who saw anything is asked to contact Chelmsford Road Policing Unit on 01245 240600.
