A WOMAN is taking on the elements and her disability to raise money for charity.
Penny Norris, who suffers from mild cerebral palsy, is cycling 350 miles across Madagascar to raise money for Colchester-based charity LEPRA, which works with people worldwide with leprosy and other diseases of poverty.
The 49-year-old said that being “differently-abled, as my politically correct colleagues call it”, will make the already challenging route “even harder going for me”.
Penny, of Gilberd Road, New Town, who works as a fundraiser for Lepra, has already gathered more than £1,500 in sponsorship.
The two-week journey starts tomorrow and Penny will be visiting orphanages and projects working with street children as she makes her way across the island on two wheels.
To sponsor Penny, call her on 01206 216735 or visit justgiving.com/pennynorris1
