An entrepreneur has made a triumphant return to his home town with the invention he has turned into a business.

Mechanical engineer Andrew Teverson, 27, who grew up in Witham, designed the Stage Bus in his final year at university and completed the project in 2007.

The result - a stage built into a double decker bus - inspired him to start his own business, bringing his unique mobile stage to events across the country.

Having set-up his Stage Bus company in Birmingham, where he went to university, Andrew had not yet had the chance to bring his creation to his home town.

But the Stage Bus made quite an entrance as it reversed into the car park of the United Reformed Church in Newland Street last Friday.

The following day, the bus moved to the town park in Maldon Road where it transformed into the main stage for the More Than Gold family festival.
