Witham: Revised masterplan for Maltings Lane unveiled

Plans for a new office business park have had to be scaled back because few companies are interesting in coming to Witham.
Developers have submitted their revised masterplan for the final stage of one of the Maltings Lane development, one of the town’s biggest housing estates.
But consultants Capita Symonds said it has had to make the business park smaller and introduce more varied employment, including a pub/restaurant, two food shops and non-food shops.
However it will still create 1,146 jobs.
Developers have also set aside land for a health centre, but said GPs and the primary care trust are not interested in setting up one yet.
