Braintree district: Warning over abandoned cats Braintree district: Warning over abandoned cats

A veterinary nurse has spoken out after two cats and a kitten were dumped at the surgery in just one week.

One of the cardboard boxes didn’t even have holes for one of the cats, which was left outside Millennium Veterinary Practice in Millennium Way, Braintree.

Nurse Laura Baster said: “All the charities are full and you can’t get cats in there.

“We are full to the brim with strays.

“There are about nine desperate for a home.

“I don’t know what it is, I think it is the financial climate, and the breeding as there are so many kittens.”

She urged people not to regularly feed cats that aren’t there own as they can then become a burden.

She also urged people to take advantage of the neutering scheme run by Cats Protection.
