A hall which was taken over by a community group will receive thousands of pounds from a fund designed to help worthy causes.
Braintree Council has announced the first nine projects that will benefit from the half a million pound Mi Community scheme.
Among the successful applicants was the Glebe Community Hall in Bocking, which will receive £10,000 for improvements to make the venue better suited for holding events.
Hall trustee Tony Everard said: "The trust is so pleased and grateful to receive and award from the Braintree Council Mi Community fund."
