Children at a Witham nursery celebrated the Royal Wedding in style.

Witham Valley Nursery, in Guithavon Valley, held a sponsored fancy dress toddle and afternoon tea in honour of the big day on Saturday, complete with bunting, union jack decorations and tea and cake.

Children walked from the nursery premises at Guithavon Valley Church around the nearby River Walk and back, where they enjoyed an afternoon tea fit for the new princess.

Janette Hawkins, nursery manager, also dished out prizes for the best dressed girl and boy on the day.

Mrs Hawkins, of Silver End, said: “It was a really lovely occasion which all the parents, staff and children thoroughly enjoyed.

"It was great to get together outside of nursery hours and put on a good event with a great atmosphere.”
