Following on from his wonderful duet at Braintree District Museum with guitarist Ian Kelleher, cellist Charles Ellis is set to return to the venue.

In this appearance, he is set to perform a self-accompanied solo cello concert My Cello and I.

Mr Ellis, who is also a teacher of the cello, will be playing works by Cassado Solo Cello Sonata, the Solo Cello Suite by R. Caroline Bosanquet and J.S. Bach.

The marketing and retail manager at the museum, Polly Redman, said: “The acoustics in the learning for life centre at the museum are amazing and lends itself so well to the sounds of the cello, it really blows you away.

“After his successful duet last year, we are really looking forward to welcoming Charles back to the museum and hearing his solo recital.”

It is set to take place on Friday, April 20 and will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. Tickets are £12, £6 for under 16s.
