The A120 is partially blocked on the eastbound carriageway after a crash between a car and a lorry.
Traffic is now queuing between Coggeshall and the Marks Tey Interchange (A12, junction 25).
Police are at the scene directing traffic.
Update 5.05pm:
The incident has now been cleared.
