MASKED men robbed two Co-op supermarkets at knifepoint last night in Silver End and Witham.
Police are investigating the violent armed robberies at Broadway and Spa Road, between 9.30pm and 10pm on Friday.
The white men, aged in their late teens, threatened shop workers with large knives and wore scarves across their faces before fleeing with cash.
Thankfully, nobody was injured.
The suspects wore dark clothing, including similar puffer-style jackets with the hoods up, and wore black trainers with white soles.
Officers searched the area on foot and using a police helicopter but were unable to locate the suspects.
A spokesman for Essex police says CCTV footage is being reviewed and enquiries are being carried out at both shops.
Officers would like to speak with anyone who saw anything suspicious either location before, during or after the incidents.
