Another life-saving defibrillator has been installed on a Witham industrial estate.

Simarco International Limited has purchased the machine and it is now operational at the business' base in Crittall Road.

The company recognised the importance of the devices and has been encouraged by the numbers of staff who have already attended training sessions.

Gary Thurlow, general manager at Simarco, said: "I am delighted we have purchased our own defibrillator which will provide a greater medical resource for our employees and visitors across our three sites in Witham and help support other businesses and the public community in Witham.”

The unit will be registered with the East of England Ambulance Service and will be available to anyone involved in an incident in the vicinity.

Witham Industrial Watch, who manages the industrial sites across the town installed eight defibrillators on the surrounding estate in April 2016.

Sally Carpenter, from Witham Industrial Watch, said: "We are delighted that Simarco has been inspired by Witham Industrial Watch’s training scheme and that there will be an additional defibrillator on the industrial estates.”
