A man will get his chest and back waxed to raise money for a children’s charity.

Martin Moulds, of EBM Managed Services in Witham, has decided to go through the ordeal to raise funds for Brainwave, which offers therapy to children with disabilities and additional needs.

EBM provides Brainwave’s centre in Witham with a printer run free of charge and also print its flyers and posters to help with promoting events.

Over the years this support has mounted to what would likely have cost a few thousand pounds.

Mr Moulds said: “I really want to help the children who attend Brainwave for therapy, and I thought this was a good way of raising money for them - albeit a painful one.

“My hope is to raise awareness of this charity’s fantastic work, and to encourage people’s support through donations either via Brainwave’s website, or on the evening of Monday 18 December itself, when they come to watch me suffer.”

After a two-day initial assessment at Brainwave, therapists provide a structured exercise therapy programme to suit the individual needs of each child.

As well as supplying any therapy equipment needed, parents are taught how to implement therapy at home.

Mick Bailey, director of EBM said: “EBM has been a long time supporter of Brainwave, and being able to offer support to our charity of choice is incredibly important to us.

“We are proud to see Martin’s efforts adding to this.”
