A MAN has appeared in court where he has admitted to making a series of indecent photos and videos of a child.
Colchester Magistrates Court heard Paul Thompson, 24, made a total of 16 category A, B and C images of a child plus two category A films, the most serious category.
Thompson also pleaded guilty to two further charges of possessing a prohibited image of a child on or before May this year.
Colchester Magistrates Court heard all of the offences took place in Witham.
Chairman of the bench, Neil Hinson, said: “Given the fact there are other matters pending in Chelmsford Crown Court of a similar nature, it makes eminent sense for these matters to be dealt with at the same time by the judge.”
He added: “I’m formally committing these matters to the crown court.
“In the meantime, we’re going to grant you unconditional bail.”
Thompson, of Hadleigh Road, Ipswich, will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court next month for the case to be heard and to be sentenced.
