STAFF at a pair of care homes are celebrating after being shortlisted for an astoundning nine top awards.

Both The New Deanery and St Mary’s Court, in Bocking, employees could sweep the awards at The Great British Care Awards.

The pair of sites are both run by Sonnet Care Homes, who also recently received three nominations at the National Care Awards.

Sonnet Care Homes CEO, Julia Clinton, said: “This is our third successive year at The Great British Care Awards, and we know just how high the standard of competition is.

“The whole team is delighted to have reached the final stages in nine categories, and we are going to do our very best to come away with a few winners.”

Employees across the care spectrum have been recognised, with Joan Sirett and Patricia Natel Barroso both shortlisted for the Good Nurse award, while Mrs Sirett is also nominated for the Dignity in Care prize.

Juliet Felton is up for Frontline Leader, while Mandi Randall-Cramp is nominated for Care Trainer and the Ancillary Worker award could to Paul Westall.

Jane Sadowski is shortlisted for the Care Home Manager award while Sonnet Care Homes could be named Care Employer of the year.

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on November 9.

Both The New Deanery and St Mary’s Court have been rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘outstanding’ for leadership and ‘good’ in all other aspects covering care, safety, effectiveness and responsiveness.
