A family home has been left uninhabitable after a fire.
Firefighters were called to the blaze today at 11.07am at a property in Witham, where they found a vivarium alight.
The fire service, which had been alerted by a neighbour, despatched two engines, one from Witham and one from Great Baddow.
Firefighters had put out the fire by 12.03pm after containing it to the living room.
They used a fan to clear the smoke.
