A WOMAN in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries yesterday evening after crashing her motorcycle into the central reservation on the A12 near Witham.
The crash happened on the northbound carriageway just before 10pm.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said the service sent an ambulance crew, two ambulance officers, Hazardous Area Response Team and a response car from Magpas.
The spokesman said: "They treated a woman, believed to be in her 30s, who had suffered a suspected broken leg and arm.
"The patient was taken to Broomfield Hospital by land ambulance for further care.
"Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
Police closed the carriageway and traffic was diverted via the B1389 through Witham whilst the accident was cleared.
The road reopened at around 1am.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact the Stanway Roads Policing Unit on 101.
