A TOWN centre shop will close after 26 years as trade falls by 80 per cent.

Kodak Express, owned by Fung Wong, has been in George Yard Shopping Centre, Braintree, since 1991.

But due to a lack of business the shop will open for the last time on March 21.

Mr Wong, 46, said: "The business has changed from film cameras to digital cameras to mobile phones.

"Most customers print very little but require more time due to little understanding of their phones.

"We have lost about 80 per cent of our business and our lease runs out at the end of March.

"We tried to renew the lease for two years but the landlord wanted longer which is too risky.

"I have no plans for the future right now."

Andrew Marsh, 43, has worked in the shop for 25 years and will have to find another job when it closes.

He said: "I think it's just down to the business not making the money anymore and the lease running out.

"I have no idea what I'll do after, it probably won't be photographic now.

"My other half works so it's not a major concern, it's not life or death but I'll have to find another job."
