SHOP windows decked with snow and baubles were judged as part of a Festive Window Competition.
The Witham Chamber of Commerce held the competition, in which 29 shops took part.
Witham MP Priti Patel gave out trophies to winners F Byford and Son, runner up Haven Hospice and Cabello Hair and Beauty, which won the Best Chamber Member category.
Tina Townsend, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, said: "We wanted to recognise the small businesses of Witham in a festive competition.
"We used a 120-point score system to rate the windows, which had been decorated to promote Christmas.
"The shops which took part will all receive a certificate.
"There was a very high standard and only one point stood between first and second place."
