A CHILD was threatened with a knife and chased by two men.

The 14-year-old was walking along South Street, Braintree, at about 8.40pm on Wednesday, June 29, when a car pulled up alongside him near the Wagon and Horses pub.

The passenger got out carrying a knife. The victim ran off, followed by the man on foot and the car, towards Market Place.

When he reached a place of safety, the driver and the passenger both left in the car, which was described as being silver or light grey and similar in shape to a Renault Scenic or Peugeot Partner van.

The boy was unhurt but left shaken.

The man with the knife was described as being white, about 5ft 10ins tall, of athletic build, and aged in his late 20s to early 30s.

He had cropped black hair, was clean shaven and wore a close-fitting plain white T-shirt and shorts. He had tattoos on his right arm and right leg.

The driver was a white man, about 5ft 2ins tall, of large build. He was believed to be aged in his 50s, bald, and wore a grey T-shirt.
