INDUSTRIAL workers have been consulted over plans to ban parking on junctions on business estates.

The North Essex Parking Partnership proposed to put double yellow lines on junctions at Eastways and Freebournes industrial estates in Witham.

As part of their plans, “No waiting at any time” restrictions will be implemented at 13 junctions.

Industrial workers had said the proposals would leave them with nowhere to park, and could have an effect on business.

A NEPP spokesperson said: “The proposals by NEPP’s Joint Partnership Committee were subject to a period of consultation which has now concluded. "The outcomes of this consultation are being assessed to see if any changes need to be made as a result, and a final decision is expected in the next month or so.

“Prior to these proposals, businesses were invited by the estate’s management to liaise with a third-party contractor, which devised a number of plans that we were then able to include in our order."

The town and parish councils were also consulted, as well as any ward and county councillors, and the Cabinet Member for Environment and Place.
