A GROUP of babies will be summoning their inner superhero to help raise money for research to help stop infant casualties.

Baby Sensory Braintree are taking part in a superhero 'Sensathon' to collect cash for Tommy's children's charity who fund medical research into the prevention of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage.

On Friday June 3, at Stisted Village Hall, babies and toddlers up to 13 months will be sponsored by loved ones to complete a set of challenges - all whilst dressed in capes, masks and full body suits.

The aim is to raise £375,000 from Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense classes across the country.

Helen Whiting, Franchisee of Braintree Baby Sensory, said: "This Superhero Sensathon is an enormously fun event that encourages parents and pre-schoolers to tap in to their inner Batman and raise funds for the research work Tommy’s pioneers into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature births."

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s, said: "Sensathon and is a great way for mums and dads to involve their little ones in a good cause. Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters like Baby Sensory/Toddler Sense to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications - we hope everyone taking part has a super time."

One in four UK parents loses a baby during pregnancy or birth and 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year

Baby Sensory Braintree work with carers and babies right from birth, helping them bond over sensory experiences.
