MUSIC is returning to Chelmsford City Racecourse this summer as part of a three day programme called Summer Nights.

The events take place across the 21, 22 and 23 of July at Britain’s newest horse racing venue.

On Thursday, July 21 classical superstar Katherine Jenkins OBE is accompanied by one of the most accomplished orchestras in the country, the National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Anthony Inglis.

Katherine, who is the fastest selling classical music artist since Maria Callas will perform an evening of music ranging from the great arias of opera to the classics of Hollywood.

The Friday night will take people back to the 80s as three iconic acts from the decade all appear on the stage in one night.

After his sell out 2016 tour, Rick Astley comes to Chelmsford; he has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and his famous 1987 smash Never Gonna Give You Up, reached number one in 25 countries.

Paul Young will be performing all of his hits including classics Wherever I Lay My Hot and Come Back and Stay.

Whilst in a career spanning more than 30 years, Toyah has had eight top 40 singles.

The Saturday night at the racecourse is party night as the Buena Vista Social Club bring their Latino sounds over from Havana, Cuba.

King Creole and the Coconuts, led by frontman August Darnell bring their eclectic mix of disco and Latin American music to the stage as the support act.
