TWO men were arrested during a police operation in Braintree yesterday.
The automatic numberplate recognition operation, led by the Operational Support Group within Essex Police, also saw officers issue one cannabis warning, seize a vehicle for no insurance, give two fixed penalty notices for speeding and report a driver for driving while disqualified.
A 42-year-old man from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of making off without payment from a petrol garage in Sible Hedingham last Monday, February 1.
He was arrested on the A131 in Braintree just after noon and taken to custody where he was later arrested on suspicion of a further seven offences of making off without payment.
The man was bailed pending further investigation until April 17.
A 37-year-old man from Sudbury was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs, possession with intent to supply class A drugs and drug driving.
He was arrested in Gosfield Road, Braintree at 11.35am on February 10 and bailed pending further investigation until April 18.
