A mum of three has raised more than £2,000 for a charity that has supported her children for years.
Jodie Barden, 29, of Speedwell Close in Witham, has two children with Cockayne Syndrome, a condition that causes premature ageing; Ella, 8, and Chloe, 2.
The charity Amy and Friends put on a weekend medical conference every year where families from all over the country visit to be together and meet with specialist doctors.
They donated a big box of sensory equipment to Mrs Barden’s children and fund research into the syndrome, with the aim of finding a cure.
Mrs Barden said: “I try to do something crazy once a year and this was it. Tough Mudder in Winchester is a 12-mile course with 26 obstacles, slippery slopes and an ice dip which I couldn’t believe how cold it was.
“I was the only woman in my team with six men who got me through it, together we raised £2,150.”
