A man who was headbutted to the ground by a teenager in an unprovoked attack has called for more police on the streets.
The 28-year-old man from Braintree was knocked unconscious by the blow after the boy, who was aged 16 to 18, stepped out in front of the victim’s car and kicked the bumper in Glebe Avenue, Braintree.
Swerving to a halt, the man, who was driving home from a party with his fiancee, got out of the car and was was shouted at by the youth before being headbutted in the nose.
He collapsed in the road before coming round a few seconds later.
A group of five or six passers by then intervened, preventing the boy attacking the man’s fiancee.
Police are still hunting for the suspect after the attack which happened at 11.40pm on April 25 and have released an efit to help identify him.
