A new business lounge at Stansted Aiport has proved a huge hit after it was visited by more than 9,000 passengers in its first month.

The development of the first lounge at the airport in its 24-year history is part of the airport’s £260million investment programme to improve services for passengers.

The “Escape” lounge brand, developed by Stansted Airport’s owners Manchester Airports Group (MAG), offers a tranquil setting for both business and leisure passengers alike.

Services on offer include free unlimited Wi-Fi, plasma TV’s, charging points and complimentary magazines and newspapers, as well as a self-service pantry and bar.

Kevin Smith, head of retail ounges for MAG, said: “Stansted has never had a lounge facility available to all passengers flying out in its 24 year history so it’s been very exciting to open the first Escape Lounge and to welcome over 9,000 guests in the first month since opening."
