The number of children sent to a Witham academy after it received a positive Ofsted report will nearly double, new figures reveal.
Last Monday, the Academies Enterprise Trust formally agreed to scrap huge controversial proposals to amalgamate New Rickstones Academy and Maltings Academy into one school based on two sites.
The decision was hugely influenced by the awarding of a "good" Ofsted rating in March to New Rickstones, which had been struggling to attract numbers.
Now new figures have emerged which suggest that the number of pupils starting Year Seven at New Rickstones is set to double in just seven years.
