Witham Amateur Operatic Society (WAOS) is proud to be only one of 50 amateur societies across the UK to perform new musical comedy The Addams Family.

The show is set to be performed in the West End this autumn.

Most people will remember the 60’s TV show or 90’s films of The Addams Family with Gomez, Morticia, Fester, Wednesday, Pugsly, Grandma and of course Lurch.

However in this brand new musical comedy it appears there is a new family in town: Mal, Alice and Lucas Beineke.

Wednesday is becoming a young woman and has fallen in love with Lucas.

They both want their parents to meet and have a ‘normal’ dinner together, but this is The Addams Family - normal doesn’t exist in their world.

Chaos ensues as both families fight over secrets, revelations and love, but which will prevail over all in the end?

WAOS has received high praise for its outstanding shows and has even won awards with North Essex Theatre Guild (NETG) Most recent have been best actor, given to David Slater for Jack The Ripper, The Timmens Award for Oliver (directed by Nikki Mundell-Poole) in 2014 and best musical (directed by Robyn Gowers), best actress for Corrina Wilson, best supporting actor for Stewart Adkins and best young actor runner up for James Simpson for Oklahoma in 2013.

The group’s director, Nikki Mundell-Poole, has won awards for both WAOS and WOW for several shows over the years.

WAOS is performing the quirky new musical for one week only from next Monday until May 2 in Witham Public Hall.

Tickets can be booked from waos.org/boxoffice or by telephone 07546 351600 or in person at Witham Town Hall.
