Pub landlords have withdrawn a licence application which attracted dozens of objections.
The owners of the Onley Arms wanted to provide late night entertainment indoors and outdoors at the refurbished premises in The Street, Stisted.
A hearing at Braintree Council was expected to decide the matter on Wednesday but the application was cancelled on Tuesday afternoon.
The owners are expected to re-submit the application after further discussions with villagers.
