There is a range of NHS services available to make sure you get the right treatment at the right time throughout this Easter bank holiday weekend.
People can access a variety of treatment and care by making sure they ‘choose well’ and use services such as their local community pharmacist or NHS 111.
NHS 111 is available for help and advice, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays.
Simply call 111 from a landline or mobile phone to access this service for free.
Local pharmacists can also provide free health advice and no appointment is necessary.
From coughs and colds to aches and pains, they can give expert help on everyday illnesses and answer questions about prescribed and over the counter medicines.
All year round, pharmacists can also advise on healthy eating, obesity and giving up smoking and have private areas where people can talk in confidence.
You can see which pharmacies are open across the bank holiday weekend below.
The Choose Well website and Get Well Essex website also provide information about local health services - visit www.midessexccg.nhs.uk/choosewell and www.getwellessex.com
If people need medical help urgently when their usual GP surgery is closed over the bank holiday weekend, they can call NHS 111 for immediate advice and to book an appointment with the GP out-of-hours service.
