Primary school pupils were rewarded with a tasty treat for taking part in PE lessons.
Beckers Green Primary School, in Beckers Green Road, Braintree, gives the class which receives the most rosettes for having the correct PE kit in school with a fun day out.
This term, the lucky Year Five class went to Toby Carvery, in Braintree, to take part in the Chef’s School.
The children learned about different vegetables, their names, how they grow, interesting facts about each one and even got to sample the vegetables in their raw state.
They had a chance to see where the food is prepared and cooked and class teacher Miss Preston was trained by the Master Carver and carved the turkey for dinner.
To finish a fantastic morning, the children and staff were treated to a freshly cooked roast dinner, allowing the children to sample some of the vegetables they’d tried raw in the morning.
