Volunteers are needed to encourage children to read
Could you help children keep reading in the summer holidays?
Essex County Council needs volunteers aged 14 and above to help library staff sign up recruits for the Summer Reading Challenge and talk to children about their books, encouraging them to complete the challenge.
Volunteers should be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours from July 11 to September 5.
Application forms are available from libraries or essex.gov.uk/libraries in the Volunteering with Libraries section.
The closing date for applications is June 5.
