School dinners have never looked so unappetising.
Teachers and school staff at New Rickstones Academy in Witham faced their fears by chomping on bugs in an eating trial inspired by I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Pupils gave a donation to watch them squirm as they were picked to eat the most disgusting things that organiser Martin Booth could think of.
These included scorpions, a tarantula, waterbugs and sago worms.
The 11 staff raised £155. Half will go to a New Rickstones pupil who is travelling to Tanzania in the summer to volunteer in a medical centre and the rest will be added to the sixth form's charity account, to be donated to charities at the end of the school year.
