Volunteers at an arts theatre and antiques centre are calling for more police patrols after three break-ins in recent weeks.
A thief was caught on camera stealing up to £6,000 worth of rings and rare Tiffany silverware from Bocking Antiques Centre, based at Bocking Arts Theatre in Braintree, last week.
Trustee Alan Goldsmith said: "We have had numerous break-ins which we have reported to the police and I'm rather disappointed by the lack of police surveillance."
Trustees will now increase CCTV surveillance further.
Sgt Martin Richards of Braintree police said police community support officers would have given the area extra attention as a result of the break-ins and he would discuss this with officers.
