Four homes will be built in a pub car park despite concerns over access, traffic and noise.
Greene King submitted plans to build four two and three-bedroom terraced houses on land behind the Rifleman pub, in Rifle Hill, Braintree, which currently includes a car park and a garden with a patio.
The planning application comes after previous plans to knock down the pub, build one building and four terraced houses were rejected by councillors in January.
Councillors unanimously approved the plans at a Braintree Council planning committee meeting.
