Firefighters helped free a person trapped in a car.
The crew from Dunmow were called to Bran End, Stebbing, at 11.30am today.
A fire service spokesman said the vehicle had veered off the road and crashed into a wall.
Firefighters cut the roof off and working alongside paramedics freed the casualty by just before 12.25pm.
