More than 100 visitors followed a trail around town which led to a herd of alpacas and pygmy goats.
Children followed the trail of alpaca pictures around Braintree town centre, which were hidden at places such as Braintree Library, Shake Express, The Natural Way and George Yard.
Having found all the information they headed back to Braintree Museum in Manor Street to pet the animals and take part in games such as “pull the straw.”
Events officers Julie Birkumshaw said: “It went really really well and we had the weather so I think I can report a success.”
The visit from the Blackwater Alpacas marked the end of the Easter events, which included magic and circus workshops, over the past few weeks.
